Cameron Delane Weichman-Drums/Percussion
Originally from Ravenna, Ohio, Cameron has studied at the University of Akron under the main direction of Dr. Larry Snider. Cameron has received supplementary teaching from Matt Dudack and Michael Spiro. Pursuing a degree in percussion performance, he has played in multiple ensembles consisting of the University Steel Band, the University Symphony Orchestra, the African Drumming Ensemble, the Brazilian Drumming Ensemble, and participates in the University Percussion Ensemble. Cameron is also a member of the jazz/fusion collective ‘Copali’, and performs frequently in the greater Northeast Ohio area with this group. Cameron has also taught at Glenoak High School as an assistant marching percussion instructor. Percussion is Cameron’s area of expertise; including drum-set, congas, four mallet marimba and vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, concert and marching snare drum, timpani, steel drums, Ghanaian drumming, Brazilian samba batteria, and an ever growing list of percussive sounds.
